On September 17, 2022, California Republic Comic Con was informed by El Dorado County Fairgrounds and Event Center that CAL FIRE will be using the Event Center as a headquarters against the largest fire in California and the United States called the Mosquito fire. The Mosquito fire in Placer and El Dorado Counties, California has destroyed over 80,000 acres of forest, numerous residential homes, businesses, and life of innocent victims. Wildfires are unforeseen and destructive. Today only 21% of containment of the fire and CAL FIRE has stated that the fire can take weeks to eliminate. California Republic Comic Con obviously has no choice but to postpone and reschedule for 2023. If you are a vendor/exhibitor an email will be sent to you with instructions. Everyone who bought tickets please contact California Republic Comic Con for instructions. The California Republic Comic Con is saddened by the situation and will be donating to help firefighters and Placer and El Dorado Communities. California Republic Comic Con will return, but until then let's focus on helping as much as we can to support firefighters and all in the affected communities. We understand that the convention community will be upset at this news, but we must understand the situation and put those in harm's way before our own needs. See everyone soon and we will be back with amazing memories to share next year.
